I grew up in a little fishing village on the outskirts of Palermo and came to the Isle of Man when I was 18. I always say I am Sicilian-Manx – Sicily is in the blood but the Isle of Man is where I grew up, where I learned about life. Mona Douglas installed into me the love of the Isle of Man; she told me the stories and the values. I have painted it thousands of times but I never get fed up. Even now, I’m still excited to go and find another little corner where I can express the way I feel about the place.
