When my mother moved to Dubai 30 years ago, it was just desert - not many buildings and a two-lane road that’s now a 12-lane highway. Dubai has a mindset about always growing and being the best possible, having the biggest mall, the biggest tower… Although the mindset is very different here, there are advantages to the Island – it’s calm, there’s not much crime and it’s a lovely place for children to grow up. I think it has given me a platform to learn a lot about myself and other people. Seeing different perspectives and different lifestyles is very beneficial.
