I grew up in Tallin during the Soviet time – it was a great time to be a kid. The borders were closed but we didn’t know the world that existed beyond so we didn’t know any different. I came to the Isle of Man after looking for hotel work in Ireland. I had never heard of it even though the most famous TT rider Joey Dunlop was killed in Estonia and I was actually working on that track on that day. I found the Island very welcoming. It’s truly an island of opportunities and that’s why I have stayed.
